Thanks to the
lads who dusted off the boots, blew away the
cobwebs and had a run against BOBS and
St. Pats at Turramurra Oval this weekend.
We had about
35 guys play in 4 halves against BOBS and St
Pats. For what it is worth, we won 3
out of 4 halves. The half we lost was to a
well prepare BOBS second grade side.
The silky
skills were on show with some standouts -
Wardy's sea-gulling runs, Little Wardy all
over the park, Leon's 2 try haul, Gus' line
break and dash (see below), Jacques hunting
and pilfering like Olivier Magne, 3 halves
from O'Brien including 2 back as WBH.
However
fitness and missed first up tackles showed
toward the end of each half. It
confirms that we all need to get to training
so we can get some fitness and combinations
happening prior to first round.
Thanks
to RG and Ray for running the show - and the
Oracle and Ando for making an appearance on
the sidelines despite carrying various
tropical diseases after their sojourn to
Manilla.
Bad
luck to Gus who earned a trip in a ambulance
after couldn't keep his hip in its socket.
He popped it after been pulled down inches
short of a try after a marauding 80m run.
Hope it recovers as quick as possible as
many props available as we can..
Looking
forward to getting down to business in a
fortnight's time at BOBS stadium and giving
them a chance to taste first division defeat
and a RED RINSE for the first round of 2007
Grats
