Our first against game against Barker Old Boys did not produce the result that we had hoped.  The first grade team contained many new faces which contributed to a fairly disjointed team performance.  The game started with two fairly ‘soft’ tries due to some lacklustre defence in the first 10 minutes.  From this point on Iggies worked their way back into the game through a penalty goal to Johnny Tighe and a try to Bowser after some good lead up work from the forwards.  An error just before half time cost us another try.

In the second half, we created many opportunities but were unable to covert these into points.  There were no points scored until in the dying minutes Leon dropped the ball only to see Barker run 60 metres to score.  During the second half Toby Anderson was given a yellow card on a touch judge report (Toby was not happy) he will be less happy when he finds out that he owes the team a case of beer!!

There were plenty of positives to come out of the game and in time the team will come good.  The final result 13-32 is not a true reflection of the game.  (RG)

A great start to the year ! Whilst the team was thrown together at the last minute with players backing up from all the lower grades. Thanks to Dom , Big Al, Brenno, Matty Thomas, Bails, they played as if they had been together for years.

The forwards led by old? stalwarts Ado and Xavier maintained a solid platform with the new boys Sam Streeter and Mike Pye playing all over their opposite numbers but it was the converted winger Naughto , showing the forwards the way in his debut game at breakaway!

The backs were simply sensational with man of the match Peter Grattan leading the team expertly and forming a good combination with Brendan Homer at half.  Drano and Olly were a lethal combination in the centres and the back three of Ed, Lee and Dave created havoc whenever they ran the ball.
